Rescue Our Waterfront PierRedondo Beach CARE (Coastal Access Revitalization and Enhancement) Act.

Here’s the final King Harbor CARE initiative. This Initiative was submitted at 5:00pm Tuesday June 28th to the Redondo Beach City Clerk’s Office for review via the City Attorney’s office. We expect final review from the City around Mid-July, then have our Notice of Intent posted shortly thereafter. Then, around the end of July we will start gathering signatures. We will need 4,500 signatures to qualify for the Ballot, but expect to around 6,000 signatures to ensure qualification. Here is the overview of what is in the initiative:

  • Preserve the size of Seaside Lagoon, give the ability to expand Seaside Lagoon.
  • Give the Seaside Lagoon the ability to be a Closed system.
  • Ensure an adequate boat launch ramp.
  • Ensure that views are protected from defined view areas.
